Suprapubic catheterization is a bladder management method where a catheter is inserted through the abdominal wall into the bladder and maintained in place for continuous urinary drainage.
The Cystofix® Paed product is intended to be used for the drainage of the bladder through the abdominal wall, on the median line of the body above the symphysis (puncture set). The Cystofix® Paed punction sets are sterile sets for suprapubic bladder drainage in children and infants.
The catheter is introduced in the bladder to allow the drainage after surgery, in case of bladder dysfunction or urinary retention.
